Youth Soccer Leagues - Pennfield Soccer Club
Under the Pennfield Soccer Club, teams are formed using Pennfield students in grades K thru 9th, then signed up to play at Wattles Park Men's Club (WPMC) in Harper Creek.
Recreational Soccer (at Wattles Park Mens Club, WPMC)
Travel Soccer (Level = West Michigan Youth Soccer Association, WMYSA)
As the club gains interest, and if enough players and parents are willing to commit, travel teams can be sponsored by the club.  Travel teams are generally for those players who want to play a higher level, and are serious about competing at the high school level (or beyond) someday.  Travel leagues in Southwestern Michigan compete in the "WMYSA" organization.  Teams are formed by age and gender (there are no co-ed teams in WMYSA), and play other travel teams formed in the SW Michigan area (for example, Kalamazoo, Portage, Marshall, Paw Paw,etc)

Indoor Soccer
We are approaching our 3rd year of "Small Sided" soccer this summer . The league is geared for elementary through middle school.  It is growing in popularity, as we fielded 12 teams last season, with play on fields near the high school field.  Teams are formed by age groups, and are co-ed.  The small field concept is used in this league, meaning each team has 6 players on the field (one goalkeeper and 5 field players), playing on a field about 30 yards long by 20 yards wide, with smaller goals as well.  (Professional and College level coaches are proponents of the small field game with their OWN players, and are advocates of the small game for young and beginning players - in the interest of developing their skills).

Indoor soccer is offered in Kalamazoo at the SoccerZone facility on Sprinkle Road, and at the Kalamazoo Kingdom Indoor facility.   These two facilities are only about a mile apart.   Indoor soccer at these locations are played by age group and gender (usually), and each "session" lasts about 8 weeks (one game per week).  Length of games are two 25-minute halves (total of 50 minutes of play).

Indoor soccer at Wattles Park is suspended for this year, because of contention for space and other activities.  However, opportunities for indoor may open up elsewhere in the future.   We will look for locations around Battle Creek and the surrounding area that offer indoor.
